Benefits Service Manager

Location: Tacoma, WA
Job Summary:
Keep in daily contact with all Account Managers as to their work assignments in order to ensure administrative and alternate support for projects and overflow (i.e. daily resource allocation).
Help coordinate service and department meetings for communication and other training.
Facilitate training and be available for follow-up on questions after training.eg.Zywave.
Confirm that planning between AMs and AEs occurs regularly.
Help coordinate AM workflow when simultaneous demands hit suddenly (i.e., new business opportunities and heavy renewal periods).
Produce book of business reports and assist in account assignments to match capability and capacity of AMs.
Work with team, QC liaison, and Regional & National benefits committees to implement process improvements or productivity projects.
Identify areas for continuous improvement and recommend initiatives to increase cost savings, efficiency, or effectiveness.
Account Duties
Complete new business and renewal bid specs, spreading & analysis proposals and related reports.
Contact clients to review applications or obtain additional information.
Review and analyze insurance contracts and supporting documents for accuracy and applicability.
Service a book of business that generates revenue of up to $300 - $500,000 annually.
Manage preparation of employee communications and conducts employee meetings with occasional after hours time frames as required.
Required Competencies:
Minimum 5 years employee benefits insurance experience.
Minimum 3 years management experience.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills necessary. Applied and automated work environment experience preferred.
Significant experience with large accounts, i.e. self-funded, retrospectively funded, prospectively funded.
Current Washington State Insurance License.
College degree preferred, business degree desired. Professional designation, i.e., CEBS, RHU, etc., preferred.
Demonstrated ability to function effectively in an automated office environment.
Presentation and training skills excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
Self-directed self-starter with organization skills for multi-tasking environment.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills:
Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work effectively with team members of various temperaments.
Salary Range: Depends on qualifications
